Ever since Carrie Bradshaw flounced onto our screens in a tulle skirt, I fell head over heels in loved them. There is something so feminine about the layers of tulle and the nipped in waste, that you immediately feel like a princess, but for a while, I was scared to wear one in case I looked like a ballerina.
Top tips to wear a tulle skirt without looking like a ballerina.
- Go full length or midi length so that you don’t look like you are wearing a tutu. It will make the outfit look more sophisticated and stylish.
- Wear your tulle skirt with a more formal top such as a jacket to create a more grown-up look or try a jumper to make it more casual.
- Avoid dressing fully in pastel pink. Add some bold bright colours like I have with hot pink and green shoes, or follow Carrie and go for muted greens.
- Have fun it with. A tulle skirt is very feminine so why not embrace that and enjoy feeling dressed up and swishy (technical term there).
